The American Counseling Association of the Virgin Islands (ACA of the VI) is a Branch of the American Counseling Association, an international organization with membership in the United States and its territories, as well as in over 40 foreign countries. It received Branch Charter April 1981. St. Thomas/St. John and St. Croix constituted the Virgin Islands Branch. However, between 2000 and 2001, there was a separation of St. Thomas/St. John from St. Croix, which allowed each district to function on its own. Since then St. Croix Branch acquired 501c (3) status.
The association promotes sound professional practices and holds its members to high professional conduct. ACA of the VI falls under the North Atlantic Region which offers support through leadership training. |
